National Zoo

Zoo Negara Malaysia is located in Ulu Klang in the northeast of Kuala Lumpur. It is administered by an NGO, Malaysian Zoological Society, established to administer the first zoo of Malaysia. National Zoo was established on 14 November 1963 and in 2006 had around 4,000 animals of 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. In 2007, the National Zoo received the MS ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Zoo Negara covers an area of ​​110 acres of land located just about 5 km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. National Zoo now features an open concept zoo with 90% of animals placed in a wide open cage with decorative pages that are appropriate to the original environment.
