Batu Caves

Batu Caves (Gua Batu, or in Malay) is located in the north of Kuala Lumpur. It is a natural limestone cave that has been used as a Hindu temple to worship the Lord Subramania, the Hindu God.

Batu Caves is one of Malaysia's famous tourist destination primarily for the Thaipusam festival. It lured a total of eight hundred thousand devotees and tourists. It is interesting to look at the worshipers in a while mengendong bersawai kavadi, a metal frame to enclose in the body.

Rising at about 100 feet above the ground, Batu Caves is actually comprised of three main caves and several smaller in size. The largest, called the Cave Temple (Cave Temple), contains one hundred meter high ceiling and the relics of the Hindu religion is the focal point. To achieve this, a number of 273 tourists REQUIRED climb the steep stairs.
