National Monument/Tugu Negara

National Monument, also known as Tugu Negara Malaysia completed 8 February 1966 as a tribute to over 11 thousand soldiers who died in World War I (1914-1918), World War II (1935-1942) and during the Emergency (1948-1960). It is located in the capital, Kuala Lumpur near the Parliament building.

Each year, 11 November, a parade of honor will be held at the National Monument. The memorial depicts a group of soldiers flying its national flag, Jalur Gemilang. Each of the bronze statue symbolizes the leadership, adversity, unity, completion, strength, courage, and sacrifice.
Built in 1966, the monument stands 15 meters tall, made ​​of bronze and was designed by Austrian sculptor Felix de Weldon, who is responsible for the USMC War Memorial (War Memorial USMC) in Virginia, USA.
